Connect ActiveCampaign and use Recapture events
Recapture sends supported visitor events to ActiveCampaign so you can use them in your automations, including cart recovery.
Before you begin
Enable Event Tracking in ActiveCampaign. Events are matched to existing contacts by email; sending an event does not create a missing contact.
Connect ActiveCampaign
- In ActiveCampaign, open Website → Site Tracking → Event Tracking and enable event tracking.
- In Settings → Developer, find the account's API URL and API Key. Under Event Tracking, find the Actid and Event Key.
- In Attribuly, open Connections → Destinations, choose ActiveCampaign, and start connecting an account.
- Enter the four values, select Connect Account, review the API URL and confirm the connection.
Select and save events
Select the connected account and the events you want to send, then choose Save Configuration. Supported event names are Attribuly Page View, Attribuly Viewed Product, Attribuly Collection View, Attribuly Added to Cart, Attribuly Checkout Started, and Attribuly Subscribe.
If Save Configuration is unavailable, check that an account and events are selected and the connection has finished validating. When editing, make a change before saving.
Create a recovery automation
- In ActiveCampaign, add the event name under Event Tracking so it can be selected in an automation.
- Create or edit an automation. Choose Add Start Trigger → Event is recorded and select the event, such as Attribuly Added to Cart or Attribuly Checkout Started.
- Configure the email and any conditions needed for your existing recovery workflow, then activate the automation when ready.
Only active automations accept new contacts; conditions met before activation are not applied retroactively. Review your existing workflows to avoid sending duplicate emails.
Verify the setup
Confirm that the destination is saved, then check ActiveCampaign for the selected event on an existing contact and verify that the contact enters the intended automation. If events do not appear, check the connection and Event Tracking settings and confirm the visitor has an email address that matches an existing contact.
