WHY ASK THE CUSTOMER
A podcast, a friend’s recommendation, a post seen on someone else’s phone. These can shape the decision without creating a touchpoint your tracking can observe.
Invisible in click and view data
Multi-touch attribution assigns credit across the touchpoints it can observe. It cannot tell you which channel the shopper themselves believed made the difference.
A perspective only the shopper has
Adding the shopper’s own answer gives you a second, self-reported view of what influenced the purchase, one you can compare against your attribution.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
The survey appears on the Shopify order-confirmation page, right after checkout. A single-choice question, with a skip option for shoppers who prefer not to answer.

Write, enable or disable your own answers, and optionally map each one to a channel group. An “Other” option is always included for anything you did not list.
Track survey views, completed responses, response rate and answered order revenue, with a breakdown of customer-reported sources by answer.
Put customer-reported sources beside your multi-touch attribution to see where the two views agree, and where the shopper saw something your data could not.
TWO VIEWS, ONE JOURNEY
Built from the touchpoints your tracking can observe, such as clicks, views and events captured across the journey. Your chosen multi-touch model assigns credit across them.
Built from what shoppers tell you at checkout. Surfaces channels that left no trackable trace, and the reason the shopper believed mattered most.
Used together, the two views show both the measured path and the shopper’s own account of it.
HOW IT WORKS
Set up your answer options and, if you want, map them to channel groups. Save a draft or publish when ready.
The survey shows on the order-confirmation page. Answers are recorded against the order, and skipped orders are logged too.
See response rate, source distribution and answered order revenue, then compare it against your attribution.
THE FULL PICTURE

No. It adds a self-reported view alongside your attribution. Attribuly Attribution assigns credit across touchpoints with a multi-touch model; the survey captures what the shopper says influenced them.
You can optionally map each answer to an existing channel group, so customer-reported sources line up with the channels you already report on. Answers without a mapping are still recorded.
Yes. The Responses view lists each answer with the order, source, status, order revenue and submit time, and supports CSV export.
Yes. Skipped orders are logged with a skipped status, so response rate is measured against all survey views, not just the answers.
Launch a one-question survey on your thank-you page and compare it with the channels you already measure.
